Brand Copywriter (PT)

Pepperlane is on a mission to create a better world for mothers by empowering them to embrace their skills and passions, turn those into small businesses, and do it all on a schedule they decide. We're helping women break the outdated rule that says mothers can't do what they love AND have time for their families, or that flexible employment is limited to only a few skill sets.

Where We’re Going:

We've touched more than 500 communities, helping moms (and mom supporters!) sell more than 50 different types of services to their neighbors, and we're just getting started. We want to partner with you to move forward this mother-fueled economy, as our Brand Copywriter. We need your experience to help us reflect our brand values in every word we write, including our blog, newsletters, website and product features, event listings, and online course experiences. You’ll help us shape the voice and tone to reach millions of users worldwide across all marketing and in-product surfaces. We are performance-driven, creative storytellers, and always thinking about how we can better connect with our customers.

Responsibilities:

  • Learn, maintain, and develop the voice of Pepperlane in collaboration with others.

  • Help grow Pepperlane’s share of voice around key trends and topics, helping maintain the qualities that make us unique while also shaping our relevance as we go.

  • Partner with Product and Member Success teams to build out a deep understanding of our target personas, shifting and tailoring content to be more aligned with their needs and interests.

  • Copyedit and proofread any marketing copy to ensure brand consistency across content contributors, including product messaging and blog posts.

  • Support the creation of press releases and internal communication

  • Engage with the community regularly to generate feedback and ideas for future content.

  • Prioritize deadlines set by our Marketing Coordinator.

  • Deliver a broad range of needs and requests.

You are:

  • Thrilled to expand our reach to more moms (and mom supporters) who would benefit from working more on their own terms.

  • Exceptional at writing and editing, including subject lines, headlines, body copy, scripts, ebooks, video scripts, ad copy, and more.

  • Obsessed when it comes to attention to detail- always publishing copy we can be proud of.

  • Passionate about all things content marketing: learning new strategies, up to date with new technologies and marketing trends, and inspired by customer-focused brands.

  • Great at time management and deadlines—you understand how to scope projects accurately to ensure we deliver on time.

  • Known for going above and beyond the call of duty.

  • Effective in cross-functional teams via in-person, phone, and virtual channels

You have:

  • 4+ years of experience in marketing copywriting ideally in a B2C company

  • Proficiency in online platforms such as Hubspot and Squarespace.

  • A deep understanding of SEO, and demonstrated experience developing content programs that help increase prospect traffic and volume.

  • Grace under pressure and comfort with ambiguity.

  • About 25-30 hours per week (this is a part-time position)

  • Experience running your own company (bonus points)
